I’ve been trying to fix a 3DS I bought on ebay. Managed to fix some issues but now I’m stuck with this! It took me long enough to get it not to turn off the console whenever ZR was pressed, but now I’m stuck with this!
Does anybody know why this could be happening? I reseated most of the ribon cables just in case which seemed to cause this issue, but get the console to stop getting into sleep mode whenever ZR was pressed. I feel like there’s a short somewhere but I don’t know where. I’m mostly assuming there’s a ribon cable that’s put in sideways or something and is causing interefernce with other button inputs, but I have no idea where it would be, because I don’t know where the signals join together.
Something else that’s interesting is that it seems as though the buttons are always pressed down, since it boots up it’s special menus when going home from special modes. Edit: There’s a ribon cable with a black pin on it going towards the back on the charger side, seemingly the bottom touch LCD one. Would that be a posible cause?
Hi! I would replace the whole button and see if it will resolve it. It’s a easy repair and it’s not expensive. It’s a start to test if this will resolve your issue.
I think I figured it out. It must be an issue with the ribbon cable connected to the abxy board, since the only buttons with issues and signals getting combined are that one, replacing the ribbon cable should fix it. Will update this if it works!
