The latch(little black tab) for the ZIF connector fell off. All pins are still there, therefore can I slide the ribbon cable in and secure it with some kapton tape? I’m a beginner to fixing my own stuff so I don’t want to have to solder a new ZIF if not necessary. Thanks, Have a great day.
All a latch does is hold the connector in place. Provided that you can keep it in place in another way, you should be fine.
