Chosen Solution

This issue is kind of hard to explain but I’ll try my best. I have a 43UN71006lb LG TV that I purchased last year. While it’s not the greatest 4K tv in the world it does the job. The only problem I’m having with it is yellows appear more “greenish yellow”The only way I can get yellows to look how they should is if I turn down the contrast but this darkens the screen too much. The issue is only really noticeable with bright yellows like the Simpson’s for example. The strange thing is if I leave a bright yellow screen on the tv for a few minutes, the tv will automatically adjust it from the greenish-yellow to the normal yellow it should be. I’ve gone through all the menus in my tv and turned off anything that auto adjusts the picture but the issue persists. The issue is present in all picture modes. The ones I use are expert dark room or cinema for TV,and game mode for my PlayStation 5 with the issue being more noticeable in game mode with HDR enabled. If I’m playing a game, light sources like lanterns, fire, the sun at certain times of day etc will have a slight green tint to them. Ive tried adjusting the red-green tint slider to be more red, but this doesn’t fix the issue. I’ve also tried using different picture modes like warm 1-3 with no luck either(I keep it on warm 2 anyway). I’ve fiddled with white balance a little but I guess you need proper calibration equipment for that stuff? Ive factory reset the tv multiple times. I’ve checked connections to external devices. Used different HDMI ports and cables. Does anyone have any ideas what I could do to possibly fix this issue or what could be causing it? Thanks in advance.

Hi @mash_man , Did you check if enabling/disabling the eye comfort mode makes any difference? Go to Settings > Picture > Additional Settings > Eye Comfort mode. Have you checked if the TV has the latest software installed? Go to Settings > Support > Software update. According to this link there was a software update Ver.03.23.25 released on 13.07.2021. (scroll down to find Software and Firmware on the right side of the page) How old is the TV? If it is still within the manufacturer’s warranty period, contact their customer service section in your location about the problem, just in case it is a hardware problem

I have this issue with my LG television. The model is (was) an LG 43UN71006LB. I purchased it in March 2021 and didn’t notice for a few weeks or even a month or two. I noticed the yolk of fried eggs was green on the edges. If a (presumably) yellow flame was shown, this was also green. The Simpsons also had a green hue and certain adverts where you know a logo is yellow, like the LIDL logo, look mucky. I eventually complained under warranty and LG came and picked up the television and gave me a used replacement. Not sure if they are repairing my television and returning it - need to email them to find out. I have had the replacement five days. This replacement model is a webOS TV UJ634V. Whilst not as bad, this one also has a green hue on yellow pictures, although not quite as bad as the original television. I am wondering whether to reject the television as it simply isn’t right and there is obviously an issue with the cheaper televisions that LG produce.

Your screen is burned in and the panel needs replacing. Same thing happened to me last year. If you look for a ‘red screen’ on YouTube it will display the burn in.

I have the same TV and I have a solution for that. This was done for me by an LG technician.

Procedure: Go to the EZ-Adjust Menu with the software: ColorControl or a service remote control. But don’t change anything there without knowing about it. Under no circumstances should you perform a Reset/ InStop (you will lose the warranty). I repeat: leave all menu items untouched. In the EZ-Adjust there is an option called “Sub B/C”. open this The 2nd (bottom) option: Sub-Contrast is important. Set this from 128 to 0. Leave the top option at 128. Close the EZ menu with the Settings button to save.

The green tone from the yellow disappears.

Reason: LG uses different IPS panels for this TV. You (and I) have an IPS panel with the type name: BEO. This RGBW panel has a control problem. It is one of the few panels that cannot cope with the standard value of the LG software of 128 SubContrast. If you set the value to 0, you do not lose any image quality, only the control of certain pixels for the ContrastRatio changes.

Regards

A simple fix is a calibration. Cheap TV’s don’t do well out of the box. Even expensive TV’s are not perfect out of the box and need calibrated. All of my TV’s have been calibrated to be almost perfect.
