So sometimes the fan of my Xbox is emitting some sort of clicking sound as if it is touching something although it isn’t. I’m assuming it’s some sort of ball bearing issue. Any ideas what it might be? And if it’s the bearings: is it ok to just leave it if the noise isn’t bothering me?
Try taking it apart and check if the bearing is broken or something is wrong with the fan.
I managed to resolve this, no need to open the console. Stand xbox vertically and with front facing you Through the vent at the top with a small screwdriver i kept turning the fan slightly until i could see a group of black cables clipped together through a gap in the fan blades. (Just right of centre at the front, nearest to you) One of the cables was raised out of the group so i pressed down firmly on it and it is no longer catching the fan blade, been perfect since. You may need a flashlight to shine into the vent Hope this helps
What was the sound like exactly? Was it loud? Was it a constant noise? I hear random noises from my console as well and I tried looking for this but saw nothing
