I recently purchased a xbox 360 slim. The DVD daughter board is fried, no longer works. I need to replace the drive, of course there in lies the problem. We all know that the DVD Rom and Motherboard on Xboxes are married, meaning if I put just any dvd rom into the xbox it will just say play dvd and won’t play games. Okay so I need to get the dvd key off of the motherboard, how do I do it? I believe it’s a Corona and I have the latest dashboard. So is there any way I can get the key off this motherboard, and how do I go about it?? Also is this way cheap and easy?? Thanks for the help.
I have the same issue. Board is bad but instead of trying to extract keys from board I’m trying to figure out what chips has the DVD keys so that I can swap to a donor board. I’m just unsure as to what chips I need to remove.
