So when I go to turn my Xbox 360E on it shuts down after about 5 minutes of playing and the red light starts blinking on the power button. Then the fan ramps up and I go to turn it back on and it either does the same thing again, or let’s me play for hours with no problems.. So I know that it’s not actually over heating but for some reason I guess it just thinks that it is? I can’t find any threads where anyone has had the se problem

I would suggest an internal cleaning and replacing the heat sink compound with a GOOD thermal paste. Tuniq TX-4, or Arctic MX-4. Even if the console is clean, Thermal Paste breaks down causing improper heat transfer.
