When I install the CMOS battery (new) the laptop won’t boot…completely dead. This happens even when I re-install the old battery (I have checked that the battery is full) If I remove the CMOS battery the laptop turns on normally. I can use it like this but if the main battery runs out I have to change the date in BIOS every time. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?

most likely is the battery is replaced wrongly , check the polarity is correct
