I’ve been having issues with my Mac battery for a while. At first, it would say that it needed serviced but I thought this was just a battery issue because it works fine when the Magsafe is attached. I bought a battery and fitted it and it switched on fine but, again, only with the Magsafe plugged in. There is a large X over the battery symbol at the top and this is the diagnostics from Coconut:
Does anyone know what this may be? I have tried to do the SMC reset but still have the same issue. If it is a Logic board issue, what is the price range for this? I am assuming Apple won’t touch it because it’s had a third-party battery fitted too.
You need a new battery! The micro controller within it is not working properly. Here’s the needed part MacBook Air 13" (Late 2010-2017) Battery and here’s the guide MacBook Air 13" Early 2017 Battery Replacement That should fix things!
