TV is Samsung UE55JU6400k. I switched tv of then went on holiday for 2 weeks. Returned and it would not power on. Standby blinks red every 2 seconds for about 10 seconds. I powered of then on and held the back of tv standby button pressed for 30secs. no good. Removed power board. Belled out the fuse and its fine. Resoldered the surge Cap (WMR 14d751k capacitor VX801S) and fuse joints in case of a dry joint. plugged back in. still no good. Visual inspection - but everything looks perfect. What else can i try ?

@monty_a2 Do you get the TV standby power light turning on when the power is connected to the TV? If not see the answer above about what to do. If you do, try the power reset option as shown in the answer above this one. You haven’t said the TV model number but most Samsung power boards are alike in that there is information on the board e.g. STBY voltage value and reference point and also other voltage values as well. Even though the Standby voltage is low DC voltage be SAFETY AWARE when testing as there is exposed lethal AC voltage and also high DC voltage on the power board. Board level repair without a schematic is difficult unless it is an obvious problem i.e. burnt out or heat stressed component. Sometimes the schematic can be found if the TV is old enough but mostly not. The simple checks usually allow you to determine whether it is the board or not and then you replace it rather than trying to find the individual faulty component on the board If you don’t know how to test safely when AC voltage is present then don’t do it!
