Chosen Solution

I have the Epson workforce 840, I can print no problems, I can scan with no problems if I start the scan with Epson scan icon on my desktop, however if I try and start the scan from the printer using the scan button on the touch screen, then touch “scan to PC (PDF)”, it gives me two choices: “USB connection” or “last used” If I use “last used” as this is wireless the printer gives me an error “Communication error make sure the computer is connected than try again” I have reinstalled all drivers and Epson scan, I have reset the printer itself to factory settings, reinstalled all drivers and software but same problem. I have upgraded my computer to a new Dell running windows 10 however I had the problem at the end with my old computer. I can scan using the Epson Scan icon but I would like it to work from the printer again.

Hi, Have you got the latest Epson drivers and firmware installed? Have you got the latest Event Manager utility v3.11.21 installed? If still no good, try connecting the printer via USB and then check what happens if you choose the USB connection option from the printer control panel to check if it is just a WiFi problem or not
