Would it be safe to clean the Touch ID sensor with rubbing alcohol like whiskey or brandy because I am germophobic!
The device is sealed for IP67 rating, with the exception for lower left vent, which is covered with breathable but water resistant material, something like Gore-Tex. Avoid that area especially if the contacting liquid is not water, the material resist water by surface tension, which may cause other liquid to seep through. However there are numerous cases of alcohol entering the device. Alcohol may dissolve the o-ring gasket around the home button or the adhesive gasket around the screen, which cause your device to leak in water.
