i phone 3gs 32 gig wont sync or charge after screen being replaced opened it back up all connections solid any one know if jailbreak could cause this or did a part go bad i tried everything
open it again and check connector no. 4 - it connects the dock with the logic board. you can use the dock connector guide for that
did you try to reset it ? press and hold the sleep and the home button at the same time until the phone restarts - this could take around 10 seconds. i know that you wrote that all connections are solid - but number 4 can be aaaaaarrrrrghhh - sinc ethe 2 problems are dock related, i would always check number 4 ;-)
Do this: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1747 (the guide) and then take a toothbrush and clean the contact on the iPhone. This helped me!
