Good afternoon. My craftsman lt2000 with briggs and stratton model 247.288842 died while mowing the lawn. Because a mouse had gotten to the spark wire, here is what ive tried…. new magneto, new spark plug, new boot, new battery.. wont start. turning was “hard” so i tried something i saw here, i took off the air filter and plugged the hole to check for a compression issue, while i had that blocked it turned over normal, but still wouldnt start… checked for spark.. took out plug, touched to engine, turned key, spark confirmed. checked solenoid, clamped gas line, took off solenoid, connected wire, turned key, solenoid worked fine thought about clogged fuel line/filter, but the first time i took off the solenoid i forgot to clamp the fuel line and the gas came out like gas should come out of an unclamped fuel line. put 2 teaspoons of gas down air box, covered air box [to compensate for compression valve] engine turned but did not start. im really lost. im not a mechanic by any means, i know just enough to be handy, and follow instructions well.. but this is above my knowledge level now. help?

when you replaced the mag did make sure the crank alignment key was inserted
