Won’t recognize that I have a controller plugged in even if it’s new

Hey mate, try cleaning the controller port with some compressed air. Sometimes dust can cause bad connections. If this doesn’t work, you’ll need to open the xbox and check where the controller ports connect to the motherboard. Look for bad/cracked solder joints, burnt tracks etc. Any luck, the worst case will be the controller port requires reflowing due to old age. Hope this helps.
