My MacBook Pro will take power and charge the battery. Basically, when I click the power button there is no chime and just a black screen. Also, there is no power to the USB ports or the keyboard. I can also hear the optical drive spin up and the cooling fan is running. I have looked around on different forums as Apple was not much help to me. I thought it may be the GPU, but then still I would be getting a startup chime right?? Thanks to everyone that will help :)
Sorry to say if you didn’t get the system wet the logic board has failed. The reason the fan is running is the fact you have a micro controller (SMC) which controls it. As you haven’t passed post the USB ports aren’t powered yet. Time for a new logic board or find someone who can fix yours.
