Chosen Solution

Hi, mi laptop is not turning on, MagSafe is always yellow. I opened the tray and found this element getting hot.

joseluisgzz the component you are pointing to is reference designator L7130 and it is a PIME103T-4R7MS 4.7UH 20% 8.5A inductor. The max current for this is 8.5A so it is possible that it is heating up due to overcurrent. I’d be checking Q7130 (component just above L7130) MOSFET. Get the datasheet for that from here. Of course you can always check L7130 with a multimeter (simple go-no go) as well as an oscilloscope. Check on here for an idea. I’d check mouser.com as well as digikey.com as well as many others for a replacement if you really need it.

That’s a choke for power delivery, presumably for the battery (whose connector is right next to it). If you’re comfortable with soldering, you can try replacing the choke with an IDENTICAL choke; make sure you get the right one. If you’re not comfortable, then the only solution that I can think of would be a main logic board replacement. I don’t think it’s a problem with the battery, but rather the power delivery to and from the battery.
