It was working fine with the box opened and the drive loose in the case. When the drive was put in its proper place it no longer wants to power on. It just beeps then shuts down. I’ve tried different power supplies, outlets, and holding the power button down for 30 seconds. Nothing works. It’s always plugged directly into the wall. It is still the same optical drive so the daughter board isn’t an issue. Tried resetting the power supplies. Any ideas? Update* the fan will come one and run its normal checks only if the pwm wire is disconnected. The fan doesn’t engage at all if it’s plugged in just shakes like it’s trying to engage. Still no answer here.

Check the cable connections to the disc drive, both on the drive side, and where it connects into the motherboard. When you moved the drive, one of the connections may have been jarred lose, causing a bad connection. I wouldn’t be surprised if the reason why the system isn’t powering on is because it can’t detect the disc drive.
