Chosen Solution

I just installed a new battery using the ifixit battery replacement kit. Everything went smoothly and the computer powered up and operated, on battery power and on AC power, with no issues. I was so proud of myself. I then let the battery drain completely until the MacBook died per the ifixit guide instructions. Now, it won’t power on with or without the MagSafe AC adaptor plugged in. No signs of life - no fan, no beeps, no lights, no trackpad action… when the MagSafe power adaptor is plugged in the light is a solid green. I already tried a SMC reset. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

If you plug in the old battery, will the MacBook Pro boot? If it does, then the new battery is probably faulty. I would also suggest maybe reseating the battery cable itself?

Some times batterys can be defective and wont accept a charge, Try replaceing the battery once more and give it a shot. Also replace the Magsafe chargerport as well as the chargerport could be bad as well.
