I just bought a refurbished Dell OptiPlex 760 with Windows 7. Windows update doesn’t work and any attempts to use Microsoft utilities to repair it don’t work. No error codes just endless waiting for for results but nothing happens.
Have you tried the MS Update readiness tool? Looks like it was designed for the problem you’re describing…assuming it’s not a firewall or connection issue. Scroll to the bottom and download the appropriate version for your OS. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/9…
