Hi! I recently broke my new iPhone X screen by dropping right on a washing machine lid and was not happy to find out that cost of repair will be 450$(Kazakhstan)!
Face ID is working, but screen just went black 3 days after the drop. Now I found a guy who drowned his iPhone X and left it soaking for a week before he opened it and tried to fix it. He says that screen is working(he connected it to another iPhone X and screen turned on, while Face ID didn’t).
So I’m planning to make him an offer he can’t refuse - buy his screen for about 100$ and stick it in to mine iPhone X putting my original camera, faceID,ambient sensor in to his screen. So couple questions: 1 - Will the screen from water damaged iPhone actually work properly? (How water resistant is screen as a part itself? Will it work properly as it ment to and won’t it damage now, my iPhone??) 2 - Will Face ID and other sensor work with new screen in my iPhone X?
Thank you guys!
We wont be able to tell you that as the water could have gotten onto the front camera assembly which also contains the earpiece. I would assume it most likely the screen and it’s components on it are undamaged if the phone boots off of it.With Face ID, that wont work once the screen is replaced, regardless of it being original or not.
