Hi! If i will change the stock SSD in my Macbook Pro Retina 15" (mid 2014), will the apple warranty (such as applecare) be void for all the hardware, or just about the new ssd? For example, if my screen (or touchpad, or keyboard..) breaks after i changed my SSD, will the warranty be valid? Thank you
What do you plan to upgrade it with? As far as I know, only Apple SSDs are available for this machine and the upgrades are pulls if you can find one.
According to the warranty terms, Apple will not be for damages “caused” by unauthorized upgrades and retina MacBook pros cannot be upgraded normally by design. So in theory Apple has to prove that the malfunction is caused by this upgrade then can they deny warranty. I don’t know what they will say in reality.
