I have a 15inch Macbook Pro, model A1211. I plan on buying a new display data cable for it. I want to make sure it will fix my problem. my macbook pro’s screen is in good condition, no cracks or scratches, but the colors are distorted. if i plug in an external monitor, it works fine. Looks like you did a solid job of trouble shooting, but I can’t be sure this will fix your problem. The data cable is your most likely culprit, and it should solve the issue, but sometimes the only way to find out is to install a known working part and turn it on. Good luck sir!
