My phone received some water damage and at first there was just some bright and dark spots on the screen, it was still usable. Now the backlight has completely shut off and only turns on for a split second when my phone is booting up to show the apple logo. I have to use a flashlight now to be able to see my screen (barely). If I replace my phone screen would this fix my issue?
Water damage is a very tricky thing to deal with. Usually if it was only in water for a few seconds then the phone may be salvageable. I would bring it to a local phone repair store and see if they would be able to throw a screen on the phone and see if it fixes the issue. If it does fix the issue it still may not be a guaranteed fix as the phone was water damaged.
