I replaced the display and home button would not respond.it was like it was always working. iPhone would not power down and when I opened it up and unhooked the cable the power was on.now it will not power up did I short out the logic board? Update (08/21/2019) i believe you are correct on short.it connects to iTunes with info about device just no display to see.
when you say unhooked the cable, do you mean the display cables? you may have shorted out the logic board, at least the display portion of it. always recommend disconnecting battery as soon as you can on any electronic device. you can try hooking it up to itunes and do a restore, though it’s unlikely to work. at the last if it connects to the device then you know the device turns on, just no display on it.
