Was at a friends house and I spilled the smallest amount of water (Only about 1/2 a cup) on his Xbox one s. When plugged in the light doesn’t come on. I told him I’ve done some repairs of phones and headphones in the past so I took it home to look at it. I took it apart to try to find the problem but there was no trace of moisture on the motherboard at all. Took everything off and I just couldn’t find any problem. I decided to run a diagnostic on the power supply. I found that it wasn’t receiving any voltage and when plugged it there were no lights or noise. Will simply buying a new power supply fix the problem or should I take a look at the disc drive too?

If there are no water marks on the mainboard, try with a new PSU. If there are obvious water marks on the mainboard or the disc drive, do not attempt to power it on. Game consoles are highly encrypted, if the main chips are fried, you cannot replace them one by one if one of them is fried, you have to replace the whole set, basically pointless as it does not make economical sense, so do not risk frying the main chips if you can avoid it.
