Hi there i have an iphone 7 plus running ios 14.2 my battery health is really low it hardly holds a charge. I wanted to replace the battery then possibly sell it but i seen apple locks the battery so it pops up with a service message instead of the battery health. I cannot really find information on if it just the devices or the software that does this. Thanks
No you will not unless the replacement battery health is at 80% or lower (health as in max capacity)
No its only the newer models that this applies, Apple now serialises the batteries but this wasn’t the case on the older generation.
