I have a Mac Book pro mid 2012 with a cracked screen and it doesn’t display. Will a mini display to HDMI adapter work ? My monitor has 5 HDMI ports so it is HDMI compatible. I have a PNY brand mini DP to HDMI adapter but it’s not working I got it used so maybe the adapter is faulty?

You should have no problem with a monitor, you can even use a TV with HDMI ports.
