Will a bad drive belt prevent my craftsman ys4500 21 hp riding lawn mower from starting

Worth Family no it will not. It will not move but should still start. Check for spark and check for fuel. Let us know if it turns over and what symptoms your mower has. The more detail you provide, the greater the likelihood of getting a good answer. Will not start

  1. Out of fuel. Solution: Fill fuel tank.
  2. Engine not “CHOKED” properly. Solution: See “TO START ENGINE” in Operation section.
  3. Engine flooded. Solution: Wait several minutes before attempting to start.
  4. Bad spark plug. Solution: Replace spark plug.
  5. Weak or dead battery. Solution: Recharge or replace battery.
  6. Dirty air filter. Solution:. Clean/replace air filter.
  7. Dirty fuel filter. Solution:. Replace fuel filter.
  8. Water in fuel. Solution: Empty fuel tank and carburetor, refill tank with fresh gasoline and replace fuel filter.
