I have an iMac 5k with image retention problems. A thread I read on the subject seems to show all the screens have this problem until 2017. Rather than get a screen that will go bad again, I wanted to put a 2017 screen in. Pictures show their ports look identical, but I want to be sure before I put $400 into one. Thanks!
Sadly, Apple created their own T-CON logic for the first generation of 5K iMac’s (2014). Review Step 6 in the iMac Intel 27" Retina 5K Display Teardown The newer displays use a different logic as such the interface connection to the logic board is not the same.
