I have the Wii all plugged in and the console shows the red light indicating that it is on, but when I put in a CD, turn it on from a Wii remote, or press the power button, it immediately turns off.
Can you open up the Wii and unplug the fan, then try powering it on(turn the wii off after it has been powered on for 3 seconds)?
