Hello all! Let me start off by saying this is a customers ipad and not my own, she updated her ipad to 10.2 and now does not even have the option of even turning on wifi(wifi was working perfectly before). i have reset network settings and have done a restore. i can not erase the ipad in the settings because it asks for the apple id and password (which i have and am sure are the correct credentials, having logged into iTunes) and since the ipad is not connected to the internet, it fails to communicate with the apple id server. i was wondering if anyone had a similar issue and or knows a fix for this issue.
Hi Jo. This happens as when upgrading or reflashing the firmware the WiFi address is not written to the Nand. During restore. You can try downgrading 1st to see if that may solve the issue. If not then the data signal from the Wifi chip to the nand is damaged more than likely through a knock. More often than not though you have to replace the WiFi chip to recover the data signals and pair the WiFi for it to function again
