I have an hp Probook S-series with a DLink wifi modem. My laptop will not recognise the modem. It used to , but no more. It tells me there is three others in the area that I never heard of. Is the problem in the modem or in my laptop, or am I doing something dumb? Cole g1co1e@yahoo.com
Hi, Can you access the modem using an ethernet or USB (you don’t say the model of your modem router) cable? When connected by cable, open a browser and enter I think http://192.168.0.1 then enter user name and password. default user is admin, leave password blank check to see if the wireless is turned on. If you can’t access the router try ‘resetting’ it.Usually there is a reset hole in the back. If you do this and then you can connect you will have to set it up again.
