So, a few months ago, at some update, i dont think it was later than ios 12, my wifi and bluetooth died on me… the issues is as following: -wifi is completely grayed out, can’t toggle it form control center nor the wifi menu. -bluetooth can be toggled but it just… load? and thats all. Now i’m on ios 12.1.3. already tried multiple versions of ios, even betas, i stopped updating in the hope i might fix it with jailbreak but i missed the jb train and now i’m going for a week in another country where there is no roaming and cant use the phone since i have no wifi. And now my question is…. is it software related or the chip died? The phone model is MN8X2RM/A

Wifi chip has gone faulty, there really isn’t a way to fix it without going through a lot of re-work on the phone, which I don’t recommend as it is really expensive ($200+) This is pretty lengthy but here is the process in general for a wifi chip replacement: What needs to be done is the wifi / bt chip combo would need to be replaced on the board via a reputable experienced micro-soldering technician. Then since the replacement chip has a different MAC address identifier the memory chip which is like the hard drive will need to be reprogrammed with that new same Mac address in order to get the phone working with the new wifi chip.
