Hi; After a Coffee spill I have managed to get my Macbook Pro Late 2008 Unibody A1286 running again, in fact I am typing this on it. The keyboard is kaput so I am using a USB PC Kbd. The Trackpad was playing up but since I disconnected the Built in Kbd it seems OK (phew). Anyway since I got the Mac flashed up again using the pin short out on the Logic Board the iSight / WiFi and Bluetooth are missing (No Hardware Installed Message) Could these items have been damaged due to the Coffee spill, the Coffee went no where near the black strip under the screen where they are connected (at least I don’t think they did? But I did have immense trouble re-connecting the WifI / Bluetooth connector to the Logic Board. If I am correct its the one located near the Optical Drive and it has some sort of small plastic piece next to it that prevents you from being able to slot it straight in, what is that annoying thing (its moves). I will take another look at the cable and also now I think I know how to get at the other end of the cable itself I’ll have a look at that too. In the mean time any help would be great

Yes - it’s possible, but more likely a poor connection. The status no hardware means it can’t detect a component (damaged or missing connection). Go over it again. Many problems trace back to a connector that wasn’t (connecting). If this answer is acceptable please remember to return and mark it.

I’m having a similar issue in that my laptop fell while It was in my back pack and now I don’t have Bluetooth or camera. I was wondering , can you post any photos of the connection that you’re talking about. I feel that when it dropped something may have jarred loose inside. I’ve lost my Bluetooth connection before in the past but I’ve always been able to restore it by resetting the P ram or the SMC.
