Did have virus warnings pop up on phone when going thru websites and thought I’d taken correct steps to take care of them but wall pl paper screen no longer had apps on it and white box saying stick Android has been stopped and reappears instantly when you close box.
I am assuming this phone is the one released in 2012. If that is the case, this phone was loaded with Android 4.0.4, which has quite a few security vulnerabilities. There is no official rom that I can find that you can reflash. I backup your data first, then try a factory reset via recovery to see if the malware really did violate your system files. If it did, time to get a new phone. If not, download anti virus ASAP. To get to recovery: At first switch off your phone. Then press and hold the Volume Up + Power at the same time for a few seconds. Release held keys when you see Recovery Mode. Then press the Volume Down to select option “Wipe Data/Factory Reset”, and press Power button to confirm. If it does not go into Recovery Mode, Use Volume Down instead of Volume Up on the second step.
