Earlier today, I turned on my Macbook pro and it charged. Than, once I went to change the room it was charging in, it stopped charging and hasn’t charged yet. It is currently at 3%. I went to best buy to test out a working cord so I know that is not it. I wonder if it is the Magsafe dc in board which is broken or the logic board. The computer works fine otherwise. Is there a cheap fix, and what else could it be?

Make sure the magsafe port is clean, use isopropyl and a cotton swab to clean the pins of the port. Have you spilt liquid on this recently? If this doesn’t work, it could be caused by the battery board (wouldn’t just fail though, would be liquid damaged), magsafe port (again, if liquid damage) or logic board. Open it up and check it out for any liquid damage, cleaning with a brush and isopropyl if you come across any. Let us know how this goes.

Give this little free gem of an app a try: coconut Battery. Post a screenshot of the main screen so we can see it as well with the charger plugged in and when its removed. It should tell you if the battery or the charger logic needs repair.
