Chosen Solution
When the PS3 is off it shines red but as soon as you try to turn it on it only turns green for like a second and it makes the beep sound but emediatly shuts down without a sound and the red light also disappears as If it isn’t getting electricity. But when you switch off and on on the power button on the backside the red light starts shining again and then it just continues like that.. the ps is a bit old but hasn’t been used that muchive opened it up and gotten rid of the dust that might have been causing the problem but it still won’t work
As far as I recall, this is a power supply problem. If you can locate another power supply (known good), try that first. Let us know how you make out. Dan
