I was facetiming and my phone overheated so i hung up and then tried to text and it froze and went black. I then pressed the home button to try and turn it back on and then the home button “locked” i can’t press it down anymore and my phone won’t turn back on i tried doing a hard restart pressing power and volume down for 15 seconds but nothing…any suggestions??
The only other thing that might help is connecting the phone to a computer with iTunes, and trying to update it using Recovery Mode. See this article for tips on how to enter Recovery Mode: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201263. Be warned - clicking Restore will DELETE your DATA! If this does not work, your phone will need to be opened up to be repaired. Follow iFixit’s iPhone 7 Logic Board Removal guide (iPhone 7 Logic Board Replacement), but you can stop unscrewing components after step 24. Instead, simply disconnect everything from the logic board but the power button cable, the display, and the battery. This will determine if a faulty camera/earpiece cable ( a fairly common problem for this generation of iPhone ) is causing your problem. Best of Luck!
It sounds like you need more help than a help forum. I think you need professional help and you could cause more damage if you try to do this without the knowledge of how to repair it. My recommendation would get an estimate of how much it would cost. I would check with jessa from ipad rehab or Jason from sts telecom. They have excellent references. The both have websites that you can contact them by email or phone. You can also check out their YouTube channels. I hope this helps
