Hello, I own a E5-571G-750T. Recently, I purchased 2 8GB DDR3 1600 MHz from Crucial, opened up my laptop and replaced the existing 4GB RAM with them. My laptop was turning on fine until moments ago when I tried if I could play DotA2 on high settings. Suddenly, there was a small pop sound and my laptop died. I tried re-booting but to no avail. Even when plugged in, there’s no light indicating it’s charging. Desperate, I opened it up, removed the RAM sticks, then put them back. I also tried tightening some components. Didn’t work. Also tried a Youtube tutorial where I had to press the power button for a full minute, but it didn’t work either. The only thing I haven’t tried is switching back to the 4GB RAM or interchanging the 8GB RAM in the slots. Is there even a point in trying? Or, could the problem be unrelated to the RAM upgrade?
I would try removing one of the 8GB RAM sticks. If that doesn’t work, you should switch back to the original RAM. The manufacturer’s BIOS or UEFI has a RAM limit-you can only use a certain amount of RAM with the computer. If you go over that limit, the computer will refuse to boot.
