Why Won T My Ipod Touch Turn On Ipod Touch 5Th Generation

I received an iPod Touch 5th Generation from a friend of mine. I went to turn it on and got nothing. I then charged it for about an hour and got nothing. I tried plugging it into my laptop and it didn’t read it either. What is wrong and how can I fix it?

Make sure button on top is set so that you do not see the orange lock color beneath then push and hold LG. Round button for up to 10 seconds it should come on if battery is charged if not I suggest taking it in for repair
