After doing my first battery swap about 7 years ago, my 6th gen iPod classic only charges while connected to my PC. I’ve tried a number of USB wall adapters and none of them have worked since. Did another battery swap recently and same thing. Have not yet tried in my truck, so don’t know if that works or not.

Hi I think your battery is degraded as iv seen iPods do this before and usually charging it through a Mac or pc works also I have found that 9/10 a firewire charger will work as they output more than the usb ones apart from that it might be time for a new battery but I would try a firewire charger first if you can find a firewire charger for a good enough price I recommend looking locally for people selling old iPods that come with the charger Hopefully this helps Any questions please ask Thanks:-)

@cardsfanbj changes have been made on the wiring between the iPod dock connector and the chargers itself. Apple changed which of the connector’s 30 pins carries power, the connector’s audio features have been largely untouched. Try to find an old AC wall adapter and see if that works.

Sounds like the charge ribbon has sustained damage. Check the solder joints to see if they’ve been pulled during battery replacement.
