I was given an iPhone 5c and it wont turn on… I plug it in and all it does is make a “bong” noise and vibrate. I tried the power/home button reset and nothing changes. as far as I know this phone hasent been taken apart so it isn’t something that happened in that way.
My cousin dropped his iPhone 5 and the screen cracked a little bit. We were able to hear the phone ring and do everything else but their was no picture. I had to replace his screen to get it back to its normal state.
It is possible that after being dropped the LCD cable was knocked loose so that is why the screen does not come on. What you need to do is unscrew the two pentalobe screws found on either side of the charging port. Next gently use a pry tool to separate the screen from the frame. Lift up and be careful of the cables up near the top of the device. Next you will find a metal shield near the center of the device. Unscrew this and keep track of the screw order. Disconnect the battery on your device to prevent damage from voltage drops. Next unscrew the shield at the top right of the device, and disconnect the three cables from the board. Re-connect them and make sure they are properly in place. Replace the shield, and reconnect the battery. Plug the device in and let it boot up.
