Can you pull the card up on the tablet through any sort of ‘file explorer’, etc? Can you access the information currently on the card through the tablet? While one can never guarantee the water resistance of electronics after disassembly, you should be ok as long as you put it back together before you expose it to water! By ‘open it up’, I assume you mean disassembling the device as opposed to opening the SD card / battery port. iFixit has a page for this device that links to several repair guides that will take you through step by step disassembly....

Chosen Solution I’ve been given a Mid 2012 13” unibody MacBook pro from a friend and which has been said to have a bad hard drive which I’ve swapped out with a working one. Tried clean installing using recovery seems to fail after it completes download and restarts. Showing flashing question mark folder/restricted sign/apple logo. Sometimes just the flashing question mark folder I have tried: 1.Installing Yosemite onto that hard drive via an external enclosure using another MacBook then inserting it into the problematic MacBook pro still showing the same problems....
