Chosen Solution I’ve got a S8 Active which fingerprint sensor doesn’t work. Each time i try to load the fingerprint scanner section of the settings I’m greeted with a message that says “Attention: An error has occurred with the fingerprint sensor… restart your device.” I’d like to know if the S8 Active sensor can be replaced with a S8 sensor. Please do not suggest other methods of fixing the Attention message, I’m certain the sensor is destroyed....

Chosen Solution I’m looking to do the processor upgrade for this machine from an i5 to an i7. I saw on amazon that there is a newer version of the chip that ifixit recommends. Does anyone know if this newer chip (Intel Core i7-8700 Desktop Processor) will work in place of the recommend chip? (Intel Core i7-7700 Desktop Processor) As a rule of thumb your CPU choices are limited to the series on what was offered....

I have a SATA harddrive caddy (TeckNet USB 3.0 Hard Drives Docking Station) that I have used several times in the past. In fact, I currently use it to connect my old 2011 MBP harddrive to the computer and it works really perfectly. However, I have recently tried three different SATA drives, and none of them appear in disk utility....

Chosen Solution My Xbox was running when the power supply to my house was turned off. It has not turned on since. I have run the power supply checks and that is working. The power supply remains a solid orange light and stays like this when I turn on the Xbox.. When I press the power button on the Xbox some times it makes a faint noise similar to the normal turning on noise other times it makes no noise....

Chosen Solution I am working on repairing a Xbox One X that turns on but does not display any video. I replaced the Retimer Chip, HDMI port, and hard drive. It still doesn’t display any video. Does anyone have any suggestions on what else could be wrong with this Xbox? This might actually be a problem with the tv. Try using it with a friends tv or something. If it works on another tv, your tv is the problem....

Chosen Solution The sweeper starts up then shut down in a few second. it is 3 years old could it be the battery. and is it worth replacing? Update (05/14/2019) It comes on strong but shuts right back off. some times after I get it started it will run good for a while. but after a full charge it will do the same thing just on and off. then if it don’t start up it’s dead again....

Chosen Solution I purchased an iFixit Battery kit for my iPhone XS. In following the repair video, the battery replacement was no sweat. I was able to get everything re-assembled and working. I booted up the phone with the new battery. Out of the box, the new battery was showing about 20% charge. Following the instructions, I hard reset the phone then placed it on corded charge for 2 hours. The battery level did not increase, Figuring I needed to use the phone a bit, I took it off the charge to draw down the battery....

Chosen Solution Hi All, I started getting this error. I have replaced the stock WiFi card as well as both the WiFi board and the cable, but still get the error “WiFi Hardware not installed”. Does anyone know if I can do anything else? Just for the sake of testing mate, I would one by one start adding the old parts back into the board until the error was cleared, use the process of elimination to try and work out what part is causing the issue....

Chosen Solution So basically while replacing the screen I broke the battery cable. I desoldered the flex cable and one of the solder points came off from the logic board. This is marked as ‘TH’, the + and - are still okay so I can solder onto them, so far I get a new battery will the iPod work with the battery only connected to 2 of the contacts? @itzdanbarker most likely not since the battery and the iPod are “communicating” with each other....

Chosen Solution i don’t know if the processor is integrated into the motherboard, and i’m unsure of whether or not a different processor would fit if the processor is not integrated. Hi, Bit hard to tell, but looking at the images at Steps.6-8 of the Asus Vivobook S500CA Fan Replacement guide, it appears to be that the CPU is hard mounted on the motherboard. Click on the magnifying glass in the images and then click on the image again when it opens in a new page to really zoom in on it....

Chosen Solution When I try to sign in it won’t load my account Hold the controller sync button and the disc eject button and tap the power button to turn your Xbox on. Wait for two power up tones and then release. You will now get in the troubleshoot menu. Click factory reset and then keep account and games and wait till it finishes, this should fix it.

Chosen Solution Hi, so I recently bought a 10.1 LCD display. It’s actually for a Raspberry Pi unit I have. I have also a 2007 MacBook logic board just the logic board and its LCD display which is working I bought a HDMI cable and mini-DVI to HDMI adapter which I plugged into my LCD displays controller board, I then plugged in HDMI cable to the HDMI port and put the mini-DVI adapter into my MacBooks mini-DVI port and switch on the LCD display but nothing shows up on it....

Chosen Solution Hi. My friend gave me a motherboard that I need to repair. It has problems with the WiFi connection. When i took it apart I noticed that the upper connection for the WiFi antenna is missing and one of the pads (the right pad) for the center pin is completely missing from the board. Does anyone know if theres anywhere like a test pad etc. to make a jumper wire from or can i piggy bag from the pad from the antenna connector below it?...

Chosen Solution Hey everyone so my MacBook Pro has some screen problems. It has vertical bars on the left side of the screen and I took it to the genius bar at Apple and they confirmed that it was because of liquid corrosion on my logic board (they showed me a pic of it when they opened it up). They quoted $1500 for a repair!! Could this be potentially fixed in a cheaper way my opening up the back and cleaning the logic board with alcohol?...

Chosen Solution I had just bought minutes for the month and as I was about to step in my house, my iPhone thought would be funny to fall out of my coat pocket whilst in an Otter Case. Had fallen before and would function as normal. However this time around, it will not turn on or open up to the main screen. When plugged in the Apple logo flashes. My LG - 34UM95-P UltraWide monitor stopped working earlier this week. Chosen Solution So these speakers are $500. I already had to have it replaced after like 2 months for a different issue. I barely use the thing. Yesterday I go to use it unplugged (which is the whole point of it) and even when I start it up the usual noise it makes starting up was replaced by a strange like click noise. The blue light is on like it’s normally operating and shows battery is fully charged....
